We’re Opening a Tint Shop!

Well, this was not in the original script. When we started talking about moving closer to family, opening a window tint shop was not the plan. But if life has taught us anything, it’s that plans are basically just suggestions—and life loves to scribble all over them with a Sharpie.

The original idea? Land in Georgetown, SC, and have Chris do mobile tinting. The reality? Georgetown is lovely, but it feels like a “check back in 10 years” kind of place. We’re not exactly in the mood to wait a decade for a town to grow into itself. So, plot twist: we stumbled across a shop space in Murrells Inlet, and it was basically love at first sight.

This place is perfect—set up exactly how Chris needs it, sitting right on a busy highway, and oh yeah… it’s just minutes from the beach. (Yes, please!) Honestly, it’s the kind of shop Chris would have dreamed about years ago when he had his other tint shops. Just goes to show, timing is everything—and sometimes life’s timing is way better than our own.

We officially take over the shop on October 1st, which also happens to be the same day we move into our new campground. Double whammy of excitement! The shop itself needs a little TLC, but that’s where I come in. Turning a plain garage into a cozy, welcoming space? Challenge accepted. Stay tuned for the glow-up.

On the food front, I’ve been knee-deep in pumpkin experiments for my weekly newsletter. It doesn’t feel like fall here yet, but I’m hoping if I bake enough pumpkin-y things, the crisp air will magically appear. (Fake it ‘til you make it, right?) Still, I can’t help but miss Maine’s cool mornings, crunchy leaves, and those perfect blue skies. Adjusting is hard, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today’s “Something Good”? Opportunity. Sometimes it doesn’t knock politely—it just throws open the door and says, “Surprise!” And honestly, I’m here for it.

Until next time!

Sunstoppers Murrells Inlet....stay tuned as we transform this space!
