First Job & First Newsletter

Celebrating window tint wins and the launch of Whittle Bird at Home Weekly

Big news in our little world—Chris had his very first window tint estimate today and… drumroll, please… he got the job! Honestly, not shocking at all. The man could probably tint a window while making the perfect cup of coffee, because whatever he does, he goes all in.

Meanwhile, Harvey and I spent most of the day hanging out at the RV. I finally wrangled my brain into finishing my very first weekly newsletter, which I’ve decided to call Whittle Bird at Home Weekly. Cute, right? Let me tell you though, trying to sit down and actually put it together with Harvey constantly nudging me for attention was no small feat. Every time I’d get into a groove, there he was with those big eyes, basically saying, “Excuse me, but shouldn’t you be scratching my ears instead of typing?”

My inner perfectionist wanted the newsletter to be flawless, but writing this daily blog has taught me something: sometimes you just have to hit “publish” and let it fly. So, while it wasn’t packed with every single idea bouncing around in my head, I’m choosing to see it as a solid first step—a foundation to build on. And hey, it’s out there in the world, which is better than it sitting in my drafts folder forever.

For the feature, I went with my current obsession: an iced Black Cherry Vanilla latte. Yes, I know it’s technically “pumpkin season,” but it’s still hot where we are, and I’m just not ready to trade in my fruity-vanilla vibes for pumpkin spice quite yet. Don’t worry though—next week I’ll be diving headfirst into Fall like a kid into a leaf pile.

So today’s “something good” is twofold: Chris landed his first job here, and I can finally see the beginnings of a routine forming in this new place we’re calling home. Chaos is still swirling, but hope is peeking through.

Here’s to wishing I could share this iced Black Cherry Vanilla latte with you! For this recipe and more, subscribe to our weekly newsletter below.

Until tomorrow!
