Short and Sweet

Packing Up, Hitting the Road, and Savoring the Simple Moments

This is going to be short and sweet today! The house is completely empty, and tomorrow we close on the sale—what a whirlwind. In the midst of all the packing and planning, my "something good" today was a last-minute, impromptu trip for delicious BBQ( I will post our review later ) an hour away. Just the two of us and Harvey, our trusty (if somewhat anxious and extremely slobbery) companion, piled into the truck and hit the road.

The weather was perfect, the windows were down, and for a little while, all the chaos faded away. Harvey contributed his usual blend of nervous panting and enthusiastic drool to the adventure—nothing says “carefree moment” like wiping dog slobber off your arm at 60 miles an hour! Still, it was a glimpse back to simpler times—just good food, good company, and the open road.

Tomorrow, we move our RV and say one final goodbye to our little cabin in Maine. Stay tuned for the next chapter—big changes are ahead, but today, I’m grateful for this small, sweet adventure and my "something good" in the middle of it all (slobber and all).
