The Uneventful Day

That We Absolutely Needed!

Today was one of those days that, on paper, might look a little… well, uneventful. But honestly? It was exactly what we needed. After closing up the shop for the final time (cue the dramatic music and slow-motion montage), and surviving the Great Harvey Emergency of 2025, we were overdue for some serious downtime.

We packed up our trusty RV and rolled into a campground just outside of Bangor. It’s about 45 minutes from the Whittle Bird shop, which means we’re close enough to wrap up selling the last bits and bobs from our café, but far enough away to pretend we’re on vacation. The campground is perfect—trees, birds, and just enough WiFi to keep us from feeling like pioneers.

Harvey, our resident drama king, is on “bed rest” after his recent escapade. So, today was all about hanging out in the RV, keeping things low-key. I whipped up my favorite comfort soup (because, let’s be honest, soup is the answer to most of life’s problems). Chris made a quick run to the shop and managed to sell a few of our big-ticket items—huge relief! The rest of the day was spent letting it all sink in: we actually get to have a life again. What a concept!

We’re planning to squeeze in a few last-minute Maine adventures this week—because life is too short to keep everything in the “someday” category. I’ll share more about our upcoming plans soon, but let’s just say they involve coffee and the coast. Honestly, what more do you need?

So, my “something good” for today? We found this amazing little RV park to call home for the next week. It’s the perfect spot to wrap up our time in Maine and start dreaming about what’s next.

Signing off for today—here’s to uneventful days that turn out to be just what you need.
