A Bittersweet Saturday at Whittle Bird
Grateful for our community

Today was one of those wild, unforgettable days at Whittle Bird Coffee and Kitchen. Saturday brought a rush of customers, and before we knew it, we had sold out of everything! It was exciting, but also bittersweet. So many people shared how sad they are to see us go, and it really hit home just how much this little café has meant to our community.
Since opening, we’ve poured our hearts into keeping Whittle Bird afloat, and I don’t think we truly realized the impact we’ve had until now. For some, we’re the morning ritual—a comforting cup of coffee on the way to work, maybe enjoyed slowly from a locally made mug. For others, we’re a peaceful escape from the busyness of life—a little something good in their day.
I understand that feeling deeply. Over the years, Chris and I have had our own favorite spots that became special to us, places that felt like home. Now, as we search for the right person to carry on Whittle Bird’s legacy, we’re determined to explore every possibility to keep this place alive for the community.
Amidst the chaos of a bustling shop and the whirlwind of packing up our home, I’m making it a point to find “something good” in each day. Today, that something good is the realization that we’ve created a space that matters to people. Even though our chapter here is ending, we’re so grateful for the time we’ve had and for everyone who has supported us along the way.
Thank you to our community—you’ve been the light that kept us going, even on the toughest days. We couldn’t have made it this far without you. Thank you, truly.
