A New Chapter on Wheels:
Finding Peace in the Pause
8/22/20253 min read
We’ve been staying in our RV for the last several nights, parked right at our soon-to-be former home. Even though our house is almost completely packed, it still doesn’t quite feel real that we’ll be leaving for the final time on Monday afternoon. Once we close on the sale of our house, we’ll officially be full-time RV dwellers again!
This isn’t our first time living in our RV. A few years ago, we spent a year traveling all over the US, and it was truly one of the best years of my life. But this time, it feels a little different. We’re not setting out on a grand road trip, but rather starting a new kind of adventure—one with a little more uncertainty and a lot of hope for what’s next.
We don’t know exactly how long we’ll be living in our tiny home on wheels, but it will be a while. Once we close on property in South Carolina, we’ll start the process of building a house, but that could take up to two years. Honestly, I don’t mind RV life. It’s cozy, has everything we need, and if we don’t like the view, we can just move! (And yes, we’ve done that before—one of the perks of life on wheels.)
Of all the places we’ve woken up, Maine is still at the top of my list. This morning, I opened the RV door and was greeted by a sky that took my breath away. Before heading to Whittle Bird to open up shop, I paused for a moment to soak in the beauty and the silence. My “Something Good” today is that peaceful moment before the day began—complete stillness and God’s perfect beauty.
Here’s to new chapters, cozy spaces, and finding peace in the pause.
